Margot Jager

Margot Jager (1985), PhD, graduated from University of Groningen in 2010 as communication and information scientist. In 2010 she also obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education in Primary Schools at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. Between 2008 and 2010 she worked as a lecturer at the department of Communication Studies at the University of Groningen. From February 2011 onwards, she worked on her PhD project at the department of Health Sciences at the University Medical Center Groningen. Her PhD project was funded by The Netherlands Organization for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) and was situated within the Collaborative Centre on Care for Children and Youth with behavioral and emotional problems (C4Youth). Within her PhD she performed quantitative and qualitative research on interaction between care professionals and adolescents with psychosocial problems, together with the faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences of the University of Groningen and the faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen. In 2015 she was appointed postdoc researcher at the Centre for Language Studies at the Radboud University Nijmegen on a project on online chat counseling. Starting September 2016 she works as a postdoctoral researcher on integrated and person-centered elderly care at the department of Health Sciences at the University Medical Center Groningen. Her research focuses on (online) self-management support in older adults living in the community.
